As a food photographer I'm constantly surrounded by amazing cooks and chefs which is a real treat. However, it makes me nervous in the kitchen (like many of us), as they make it look so easy and I constantly worry about ruining great ingredients or serving my guests terrible food. I recently read a quote from Heston Blumenthal when he said that "failure is not a failure its an opportunity to discover" which is something I've always known in photography but never applied to cooking.
So this week I've decided to test myself with a recipe from Tom Kerridge for some friends this weekend. It slow roasted leg of lamb with saag aloo and sounds amazing. Here is a picture form the first stage today and I'll try and get a few more as I go......wish me luck
