The last few months have been a really busy time here at Food Envy Photography which has resulted in getting a bit behind with my food blog. Back in April I was fortunate enough to be commissioned but The Elvetham Hotel in Hampshire to update and refresh their weeding menu photography assets. The Elvetham is a beautifully traditional stately home who are rightly proud of their modern and stylish wedding menus and were really keen to show it off on their website, social media channels and print material. The Elvetham marketing team really understood the importance of how they visually communicate their food/ menu to clients as being a cornerstone when it comes to generating wedding bookings
After an initial meeting to discuss their brief, a full day of shooting was arranged. With any photo shoot of this type, collaboration with the chef is essential so we can understand when the food will be ready to enable us to photograph it at is absolute best. So we created a shoot list with accurate timings that enables me to compose the shot beforehand and then have the dish arrive to shoot (once the dish is on the table we are against the clock as it can degrade pretty fast) and be able to move onto the next to guarantee finishing in the agreed timescales.
Over the course of the day we managed to complete 3 x starters, 3 x mains, 3 x desserts, group shots of dishes on set table, canapés, champagne, tea & coffee, Conference facilities
If you have a menu or dish that would benefit from similar food photography then please don't hesitate to get in touch
