September saw one of 'sweetest' shoots I've done in a while. B Bakery offers a variety of ways to enjoy afternoon tea (with a French twist of the most amazing patisserie) across London either in their café or via one of their eight RouteMaster bus tours that run all over London.
The brief from Thiabult (their very talented patisserie chef) was for a festive photoshoot that took place both in the café but also on the buses…..I'm not to proud to say that I took a sharp in take of breathe at this stage! Now I'm no stranger to shooting in restaurant or café and the limitations this can create (in terms of space & light) but shooting on an vintage RouteMaster bus would definitely magnify this. Its certainly the first time that I've need to a 16mm superwide lens on a food photography shoot…..but as they say 'necessity is the mother of invention' and getting creative is one of the best aspects of my job.
We shot over two consecutive half days and were able to shoot the whole brief plus some extra product shots of the beautiful patisserie as a bonus…..you can see a selection of the results below:
