If you’re anything like me, the sight of a bustling street food market instantly gets your taste buds tingling with anticipation. There's something undeniably exciting about the blend of tantalizing aromas, the sizzle and pop of food hitting hot griddles, and the vibrant medley of tastes waiting to be discovered.

But for our latest culinary adventure, we decided to veer off the well-trodden foodie trails of London. Why, you ask? Well, because we were on a mission. We set out to answer one deliciously tantalising question: Can we find truly exceptional street food beyond the bright lights of the Big Smoke?

The target of our quest? The charming town of Reading and its culinary hotspot, Blue Collar Corner.

Reading may be best known for its illustrious history, illustrious alumni like Ricky Gervais, and of course, the annual Reading Festival. But if you venture a bit further, you’ll stumble upon a real gem - Blue Collar Corner, a bustling hub of innovative and delectable street food.

And let me tell you folks, the food we discovered there was nothing short of spectacular. From the heartwarming British classic of fish and chips, elevated to gastronomic heights by the folks at Well Nice Food, to the fiery Korean wings and innovative corn dogs at Fries Love, every bite was a revelation. But I won't spoil all the surprises, because we've captured this whole delicious journey in our latest video (embedded above) for your viewing pleasure.

Of course, no food tour would be complete without some local brews, and we had the perfect companion in the form of Double Barrelled beers. Each sip was a refreshing punctuation to our flavour-packed bites.

The best part? Blue Collar Corner keeps things fresh and exciting, continually inviting new vendors to the party. Just when you think you've tasted it all, they shake things up with a whole new cohort of culinary creatives. And rest assured, I'll be on the first train over when the next round of vendors rolls in!

So, what’s the verdict on our original question? Based on our epicurean escapade at Blue Collar Corner, I’m thrilled to report that the answer is a resounding, and delicious, yes. Incredible street food isn’t the exclusive domain of big cities. It's out there, tucked away in the corners of less-explored towns, waiting for intrepid food detectives like us to uncover them.
